Aegis Vitae
[Single Target]Deals Physical DMG equal to 140% of Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae’s ATK to one designated enemy.
“As you can see, that transformation was brought about by the power of the Permanence. Though you may have many questions, I’d like to reintroduce myself before I answer them. I am the Guard of the Astral Express, your companion, Dan Heng the Nameless.”
Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae is a Preservation shielder who covers the whole team, and both his Shields and his damage scale off his ATK. His Skill turns one ally into his Bondmate and summons Souldragon for that ally, and Souldragon acts on its own to add more Shields and dispel debuffs from the whole team. Every player already got a free copy of him, so the real question is only whether to pull for his Eidolons.
He fits most teams built around an ATK-scaling damage dealer and shines brightest next to a single main DPS. If your damage dealer does not scale off ATK, his buffs are worth a lot less, and characters who drain their own HP, like Blade, Mydei and Castorice, should not run with him.
His Shields, his damage and the ATK he gives his Bondmate all scale off his own ATK. So reach your SPD breakpoint first, then pour everything else into ATK.

Take ATK% on Body and Planar Sphere, since everything he does scales off ATK. SPD is the first choice for Feet, with ATK% as the backup. An Energy Regeneration Rate Rope gets his Ultimate (135 Energy) up more consistently, but ATK% also works.
The main goal is for his SPD to keep up with the rest of the team. Going faster is up to you. Once his SPD is where you want it, stack ATK% for thicker Shields.
His Skill raises his Shield amount, his Ultimate raises both its damage and its Shield, and his Talent raises Souldragon's Shield. If you have to pick an order, max his Skill and Ultimate first, then his Talent right after since its Shield is smaller. Basic ATK goes last.
Unlock Sylvanity first: he advances his action by 40% when combat starts, and every time his Bondmate attacks he regenerates 6 Energy and Souldragon advances its action by 15%. Empyreanity raises the Bondmate's ATK by 15% of his ATK. Sublimity lets Souldragon give an extra Shield to the ally with the lowest current Shield Effect, and makes the enhanced Souldragon deal 1 extra instance of Additional DMG. Both of these are worth unlocking early.
E1 recovers 1 Skill Point every time he uses his Ultimate and raises his Bondmate's All-Type RES PEN by 18% for 3 turns. It is very handy but not required. E2 is the biggest jump: the enhanced Souldragon gets 2 more actions, advances its action by 100% after his Ultimate, and both its Additional DMG and its Shield Effect are doubled during those actions. E4 only cuts the DMG his Bondmate takes by 20%, which is worth little, so only get it on the way to E6. E6 is very strong: all enemies take 20% more DMG and the Bondmate ignores 12% of their DEF.
He only has one Bondmate at a time, so he works best in a team built around one main DPS. The Bondmate should be someone who takes several turns per cycle so he gets his Energy back quickly, and the two supports should also help the team take turns more often. You can swap one support for Cyrene, Bronya or Robin. Phainon still brings Souldragon along in his Ultimate form for extra damage and Shields, while The Herta needs another Erudition character, so she might have to take one support's slot.
Himeko • Nova is the Bondmate and gets his ATK buff. She attacks constantly, so he regenerates Energy steadily and uses his Ultimate more often. Thanks to Souldragon, the Bondmate always has a summon, so she gets the full DMG boost from Sunday's Skill.
DoT characters scale off ATK, so they get a lot out of his buffs. The downside is that only one of them can be his Bondmate, and this team has two damage dealers. You can swap one damage dealer for Black Swan, or for Sampo or Guinaifen on a budget. This team can't use the CRIT DMG from the 4-piece Recluse, so give him 2 pieces of Recluse with another 2-piece set.
Souldragon follows the Bondmate, so that ally always has a summon and gets the full 80% DMG Bonus from Sunday's Skill. Souldragon is advanced along with the target, so it keeps refreshing the Shields, and its Additional DMG scales off the Bondmate's stats, so it benefits from Sunday's buffs too.
Souldragon is not removed when Phainon uses his Ultimate, so it keeps giving Shields and launching Follow-up ATKs that scale off Phainon's stats. He also keeps the team safe while Phainon is not yet in his Ultimate form, which makes him a great fit for long or high-pressure fights.
He raises Himeko • Nova's ATK, and her frequent attacks regenerate his Energy quickly so he can use his Ultimate more often.
Cyrene can buff him, and with Cyrene on the team his Bondmate deals 24% more DMG. In a pinch, use Cyrene's Memosprite Skill on him to trigger an emergency Follow-up ATK and Shield.
He fits Follow-up ATK teams because he buffs ATK and launches Follow-up ATKs himself through Souldragon. Robin's team-wide ATK buff also makes his Shields thicker.
An ATK-scaling damage dealer who eats a lot of Skill Points. He can stick to Basic ATK to leave the Skill Points for Archer while Souldragon keeps refreshing the Shields. A team of Archer, Rin Tohsaka, Sparkle and him is one of his most popular lineups.
Another Skill Point hungry damage dealer who scales off ATK and benefits from him saving Skill Points. With E1 he also recovers 1 Skill Point every time he uses his Ultimate.
Her DoT damage scales off ATK, so she gets a lot out of his buffs. The catch is that only one character can be his Bondmate at a time.
His Skill, Terra Omnibus, makes one ally his Bondmate and gives the whole team a Shield for 3 turns. His Shields stack, up to 300% of the Shield from his Skill. The Bondmate is only the most recent target of his Skill, and thanks to his Trace Empyreanity that ally also gains ATK equal to 15% of his ATK. Pick your main DPS, ideally someone who takes several turns per cycle, because he regenerates 6 Energy every time his Bondmate attacks (Trace Sylvanity).
Once he has a Bondmate, his Talent Of Virtue, Forms Unfold summons Souldragon for that ally with an initial SPD of 165. Every time Souldragon takes action, it dispels 1 debuff from all allies and gives the team another Shield worth about half of his Skill's Shield. This costs no Skill Points, so the Shields get refreshed steadily. If he or the Bondmate is knocked down, Souldragon disappears.
His Ultimate, A Dragon's Zenith Knows No Rue, costs 135 Energy, deals Physical DMG to all enemies and shields the whole team. After that, Souldragon is enhanced for 2 actions: on each of its turns it launches a Follow-up ATK on all enemies based on his ATK, plus Additional DMG of the Bondmate's Type based on the Bondmate's ATK. So the more ATK your Bondmate has, the harder that Additional DMG hits.
His Technique, Earthrend, gives you Bondmate and inflicts Daze on nearby enemies for 10 seconds. When you switch your active character, Bondmate moves to that character. At the start of the next battle, he automatically uses his Skill on the character holding Bondmate without spending any Skill Points. That way your team starts the fight with Shields, and Sylvanity advances his action by 40% at the start so he gets to act early.
