Aeolian Mode: Echoes in Still Waters
[Single Target]Deals Physical DMG equal to 140% of Hysilens’s ATK to one designated enemy.
“Helektra? That name has long since sunk into the depths of the past… Ah, it’s you, little gray fry. Call me Hysilens. I am the Knight Commander of the holy city, and I will remain on watch. I will not let the storms of fate cloud your eyes.”
Hysilens is a Physical Nihility character built around damage over time. Every time an ally attacks, she inflicts one of four states on the enemy (Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn or Shock), and the Zone from her Ultimate turns every instance of DoT an enemy takes into an extra hit of Physical DoT. She is one of the best DoT characters released so far, but she is only really worth pulling if you have Kafka or plan to pull her.
She suits players who already own Kafka, and even more so if you also have Black Swan for a triple DoT team. Without Kafka, think twice, because she struggles to keep up with other strong characters.
Build Hysilens as a DoT DPS, and the two stats she needs most are Effect Hit Rate and ATK. The key number is 120% Effect Hit Rate, because that is where The Fiddle of Pearls gives her its maximum DMG boost.

On Body, Effect Hit Rate and ATK% are equally good. Whichever you pick, make sure your total Effect Hit Rate still reaches 120%. On Feet, ATK% comes first, but SPD also works. On the Planar Sphere, take Physical DMG Boost or ATK%. On the Link Rope, ATK% comes first, and Energy Regeneration Rate is only a backup.
Effect Hit Rate (until you reach 120%) and SPD (until your target breakpoint) are equal priority. Once both are sorted, move on to ATK%.
Level her Ultimate first, since it raises both its DMG and the debuffs her Zone applies. Her Talent handles her DoT, so level it early too, and her Skill, which makes enemies take more DMG, comes right after. Basic ATK goes last because most of her damage comes from the rest of her kit.
All three are very important, so unlock them as soon as you can. The Gladius of Conquest deploys her Zone at the start of combat and recovers 1 Skill Point every time Hysilens deploys a Zone. The Fiddle of Pearls raises her DMG by up to 90% once she reaches 120% Effect Hit Rate. The Bubble of Banquets makes her Ultimate detonate every DoT on the enemy at 150% of its original DMG.
If you want to spend, E1 is a great place to stop. It makes all ally DoT deal 116% of its original DMG, and every state her Talent inflicts comes with an additional identical instance that can coexist with the first. After some ramp-up, this lets Hysilens fill all 8 triggers of her Zone by herself, which is quite hard at E0. E2 shares the DMG boost from The Fiddle of Pearls with all allies while the Zone is active. E4 reduces enemies' All-Type RES by 20% while the Zone is active. E6 raises the trigger limit to 12 and increases the DMG multiplier by 20%.
Three DoT characters push each other's damage up a lot. Kafka keeps triggering DoTs, and every time she does, Hysilens's Zone hits again. Hysilens's four DoT types help Black Swan stack Arcana much faster, while Black Swan lowers enemy DEF. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae provides shields, gives an ATK buff and generates more Skill Points than other DoT sustains.
Hysilens applies the DoTs and Kafka triggers them. Ruan Mei delays enemies' recovery from Weakness Break, so they take more rounds of DoT. Huohuo raises the team's ATK and restores their Energy. You can swap Ruan Mei for Robin: her ATK buff gets diluted here, but her team-wide turn advance is very useful in cycle-based modes.
Cyrene keeps her buff on Hysilens for most of the fight, which lets Hysilens's Basic ATK and Skill detonate DoTs and raises her DMG dealt by 120%. Her Skill then hits all 5 targets and triggers her own Zone. This team often struggles to charge Cyrene's Ultimate, so use Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae as the sustain to get it up as fast as possible.
Her most important teammate, close to mandatory. Kafka's Skill, Talent and Ultimate all trigger DoTs, which keeps activating Hysilens's Zone. Kafka also brings her own DoT and a 100% ATK boost for Hysilens.
Hysilens's four DoT types let Black Swan stack Arcana much faster. In return, Hysilens lowers enemy DEF, makes them take more DMG and can detonate Arcana with her Ultimate.
Adds DMG and RES PEN and is Skill Point positive. Her Ultimate delays enemies' recovery from Weakness Break, so DoTs trigger more often.
A very competitive sustain for DoT teams. Provides shields, gives one ally an ATK buff and generates more Skill Points than other top DoT sustains.
An offensive sustain whose Ultimate raises the whole team's ATK and Energy. She can struggle in high-pressure fights.
Her buff lets Hysilens's Basic ATK and Skill detonate DoTs and raises her DMG dealt by 120%. Pair her with Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae.
A 5-star alternative to Black Swan, but more of a support. He adds another DoT for her Zone and makes enemies take more DMG. He is at his best at E2.
Her team-wide turn advance gets your DoTs going faster. Her ATK buff gets diluted, and she prefers to spend Skill Points, so she can compete with Kafka and Hysilens for them.
Skill Point positive and gives the DoT team strong general DMG boosts. Her frequent Follow-up ATKs also help trigger Kafka's Follow-up ATK.
The best 4-star sustain for Hysilens, since he heals and is Skill Point positive.
With her Talent Sirenic Serenade, every time an ally attacks, the enemy hit can be inflicted with one of four states: Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn or Shock, with priority given to a state the enemy doesn't have yet. Each state lasts 2 turns. That is why Hysilens likes teammates who attack often, and her Skill, which hits every enemy, also helps spread DoTs faster.
Her Ultimate deploys a Zone that reduces enemy ATK by 15% and lowers their DEF, while dealing Physical DMG to all enemies. Inside the Zone, every instance of DoT an enemy takes makes Hysilens deal an extra hit of Physical DoT to them. This triggers at the start of each turn or after one attack by an ally, up to 8 times. The Zone lasts 3 turns and is dispelled if Hysilens is knocked down. Her Ultimate only costs 110 Energy, so you can keep the Zone up almost all the time.
Thanks to her Trace The Bubble of Banquets, when Hysilens uses her Ultimate, every DoT on the enemy immediately deals DMG equal to 150% of its original DMG. Kafka's Ultimate also detonates DoTs at 120%, so with both in the team the damage piles up very high.
Her Trace The Fiddle of Pearls counts from 60% Effect Hit Rate: every 10% above that gives Hysilens 15% more DMG, up to 90% at 120%. You already need Effect Hit Rate to land her DoTs reliably, so going all the way to 120% pays off the most. This also clears the 75% Kafka needs to give Hysilens her 100% ATK boost.
Deals Physical DMG equal to 140% of Hysilens’s ATK to one designated enemy.
Has a 100% base chance to increase the DMG taken by all enemies by 25%, lasting for 3 turn(s). At the same time, deals Physical DMG equal to 175% of Hysilens’s ATK to all enemies.
Hysilens deploys a Zone that reduces enemy targets’ ATK by 15.0% and DEF by 30.0%, and deals Physical DMG equal to 240% of Hysilens’s ATK to all enemies.
For every 1 instance of DoT taken by an enemy target within the Zone, Hysilens deals Physical DoT equal to 100.0% of her ATK to them. This damage triggers at the start of each turn or after one attack by an ally target, up to 8 time(s). And it cannot repeatedly trigger this effect.
The Zone lasts for 3 turn(s) and this duration decreases by 1 at the start of this unit’s every turn. When Hysilens gets knocked down, the Zone will also be dispelled.
When an ally target attacks, there is a 100% base chance for Hysilens to inflict the hit enemy target with one of the following states: Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn, or Shock. Priority is given to inflicting a different state.
While in the Wind Shear/Burn/Shock state, at the start of each turn, the enemy target takes Wind/Fire/Lightning DoT equal to 31.3% of Hysilens’s ATK for 2 turn(s).
While in the Bleed state, at the start of each turn, the enemy target takes Physical DoT equal to 20.0% of their Max HP, up to 31.3% of Hysilens’s ATK, lasting for 2 turn(s).
After using Technique, creates a Special Dimension that lasts for 20 seconds and automatically moves forward. Enemies within the Special Dimension enter the “Soulstruck” state. “Soulstruck” enemies will not attack ally targets and will follow the dimension while it persists.
After entering combat with “Soulstruck” enemies, there is a 100% base chance to inflict each enemy target with 2 of the following states: Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock, all of which are equivalent to those provided by Hysilens’s Talent effect. Only 1 Dimension Effect created by allies can exist at the same time.
While Hysilens is on the field, the DoT dealt by ally targets is equal to 116% of their original value. When Hysilens inflicts Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock on enemies via her Talent, there is a 100% base chance to additionally inflict the target with 1 instance of Wind Shear/Bleed/Burn/Shock state that is equivalent to those from the original Talent effect and can coexist with such pre-existing states.
While the Zone is active, the DMG Boost effect from Trace “The Fiddle of Pearls” applies to all allies.
Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
While the Zone is active, reduces All-Type RES of all enemies by 20%.
Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
While the Zone is active, at the start of each turn or after one attack by an ally target, increases the maximum trigger count for Hysilens’s Physical DoT effect to 12, and increases the multiplier of the DMG dealt by 20%.
Hysilens is a damage dealer who can deal extra instances of DoT based on how many DoTs the target already has. At the same time, she can keep inflicting several kinds of DoT on the enemies, and she can apply debuffs such as reduced ATK, reduced DEF, and Grievous Wound to them.
