Pros

  • High and consistent DoT damage that also ignores part of the enemy's DEF
  • Reduces DEF, increases the damage enemies take, and adds damage for the whole team
  • Ramps up extremely quickly and holds that state steadily
  • Reaches absurd ATK multipliers thanks to Arcana stacks
  • Arcana counts as every DoT type by default, which pairs perfectly with DoT characters
  • DoT and DEF reduction are applied to newly spawned enemies automatically at no extra cost
  • Excellent in AoE content and still very good against single targets
  • Genuinely usable as a general-purpose support now

Black Swan’s damage over time scales with ATK, and SPD lets her act earlier as well as take more turns in a cycle. If you have Ruan Mei on the team, use an ATK% Planar Sphere on Black Swan, since Ruan Mei already provides a very large DMG buff for her.

Black Swan needs at least 120% Effect Hit Rate to maximize the DMG buff from her third Ascension Trace.

For SPD, 135 or higher is enough to gain extra turns in a cycle. If you run Kafka on the team, make sure Black Swan is faster so she can apply her DoTs before Kafka detonates them with her kit.
