Should You Pull for Sushang?

Main DPS

Sushang is a single-target Physical damage dealer who lives on Sword Stance and on enemies being Weakness Broken. Once an enemy is Broken, she takes turn after turn and piles on damage fast, but while enemies are not Broken both her damage and her speed fall off. She struggles in today's harder content, so only invest in her if you really need a Physical damage dealer.

A fit if you are short on someone to hit Physical-weak enemies and do not have Argenti, Clara, Yunli or Luka. If you already own Ruan Mei or Trailblazer (Harmony), Sushang becomes much easier to play.

Memory of Chaos Decent Elites and bosses take a long time to Break, while almost everything Sushang is good at needs enemies to be in that state.
Pure Fiction Decent She only hits one target at a time, so big waves of enemies are rough on her.
Apocalyptic Shadow Good Bosses have thick Toughness bars that take a long time to Break, so the window where Sushang can unload her damage is very short.
Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Overwhelming, she dives in and piles on damage once the enemy is broken
  • Much faster than she looks
  • High base ability multipliers
  • Well worth her Eidolons

Cons

  • Her damage and speed drop sharply if enemies are not broken often
  • Single-target only
  • Depends on luck when enemies are not broken
  • Fairly Skill Point hungry before Eidolons

Best Sushang Build Guide

Best Sushang Build

Sushang deals most of her damage with her Skill and Ultimate, so build her like a regular damage dealer with CRIT stats and ATK. You only need SPD up to your breakpoint, since her Talent already gives her a good amount.

Best Light Cones

  • 1 In the Night In the Night Best
Her best Light Cone. It boosts her Basic ATK and Skill DMG plus her Ultimate's CRIT DMG, and it also gives CRIT Rate so her hits crit more often.
  • 2 Swordplay Swordplay Great
A very good 4-star option. Her DMG keeps stacking up as long as she keeps hitting the same target, which makes it great against bosses. This rating assumes Superimposition 5 and holding all 5 stacks, and it gets a lot weaker in fights where you have to switch targets often.
  • 3 Cruising in the Stellar Sea Cruising in the Stellar Sea Great
A 5-star Light Cone that sits in the same group as Swordplay, so it works well as a replacement.
  • 4 Only Silence Remains Only Silence Remains Good
Raises her ATK and gives CRIT Rate while there are 2 or fewer enemies in battle. Good for fights with only a few enemies.
  • 5 Adversarial Adversarial Easy to get
A 3-star Light Cone. Every time Sushang defeats an enemy her SPD goes up, which gets her more turns.

Best Relics

1
Gives CRIT Rate and boosts both Skill and Ultimate DMG, which are exactly the two attacks Sushang relies on for damage.
2
The other top pick. It gives Physical DMG Boost plus an ATK buff that stacks during battle, pushing her damage even higher.
3
Also usable, and only a little behind Champion of Streetwise Boxing.

Best Planar Ornaments

1
Raises her ATK and directly increases her DMG, which suits her kit well. It needs 135 SPD, but that is not hard since she has plenty of SPD sources.
2
Another top choice for Sushang.
3
Raises her ATK once Sushang reaches 120 SPD, which is an easier breakpoint than Glamoth's.

Main Stats

  • BodyCRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
  • FeetSPD or ATK%
  • Planar SpherePhysical DMG Boost or ATK%
  • Link RopeATK% or Break Effect

Substats

  • 1CRIT Rate
  • 2CRIT DMG
  • 3SPD (just reach your breakpoint)
  • 4ATK%
  • 5Break Effect (for a Break build)

SPD or ATK% Boots both work. Her Talent gives Sushang extra SPD when enemies are Broken, so ATK% Boots can often still hit the ornament breakpoint. On the Planar Sphere, go for Physical DMG Boost first. On the Link Rope, ATK% and Break Effect are both recommended.

CRIT stats are worth more than ATK%. For SPD, just get to the breakpoint you are aiming for.

Stat Targets

  • CRIT Rate70% or more
  • CRIT DMG140% or more
  • ATK2400 or more
  • SPD134, or 135+ with Glamoth

Skill Priority

Skill > Ultimate > Talent > Basic ATK

Her Skill is her main source of damage and can trigger Sword Stance, while her Ultimate hits hard and lets Sushang act again right away, so level both first. Her Talent gives extra SPD. Leave Basic ATK for last.

Trace Priority

Riposte > Vanquisher > Guileless

Riposte makes Sword Stance stronger every time it triggers. Vanquisher Advances Sushang's action Forward by 15% after a Basic ATK or Skill if any enemy on the field is Weakness Broken, which makes her faster than she looks.

Eidolon Priority

E1 and E6 are the two best Eidolons

E1 regenerates 1 Skill Point whenever she uses her Skill on a Weakness Broken enemy, so your supports can use their Skills to buff or heal freely. E6 lets her Talent's SPD Boost stack up to 2 times and gives her 1 stack as soon as battle starts, so Sushang takes a lot more turns. E4's 40% Break Effect is also good, while E2's damage reduction is only situational.

Best Sushang Teams

Sushang Hypercarry Team

Replace Sparkle with: Bronya, Ruan Mei Replace Tingyun with: Welt, Pela, Asta Replace Fu Xuan with: Luocha, Huohuo, Gepard

Feed all your Skill Points and offensive buffs into Sushang so she gets several turns in a row and dumps her damage before a full turn cycle passes. Make the most of enemies being Weakness Broken, since that is when she hits hardest. Bronya gives Sushang an extra turn and boosts her DMG, Ruan Mei helps you Break enemies sooner, and Luocha heals without you having to use his Skill, which saves a lot of Skill Points.

Break Team

Replace Trailblazer (Harmony) with: Fugue Replace Luocha with: Huohuo, Gepard

This team is all about Breaking enemies quickly and keeping them Broken for as long as possible. Ruan Mei delays enemies recovering from Weakness Break, so Sushang gets a few more hits in, Trailblazer (Harmony) gives you a reason to build Break Effect, and Fugue's Exo-Toughness helps Sushang perform better. With E1, her Skill on Broken enemies costs almost no Skill Points.

Budget Team (All 4-Stars)

Sushang only hits one target, so she needs a second damage dealer. Serval covers the AoE damage she lacks and helps break the Toughness of enemies that are not weak to Physical. Trailblazer (Preservation) tanks hits and Natasha handles healing.

Best Teammates for Sushang

Ruan Mei
Ruan Mei

She delays enemies recovering from Weakness Break, so Sushang gets a few more hits in, and she helps you Break enemies faster. With E1, Sushang's Skill ends up costing almost no Skill Points.

Fugue
Fugue

A great partner, even better than Trailblazer (Harmony). Fugue's Exo-Toughness helps Sushang perform much better.

Trailblazer (Harmony)
Trailblazer (Harmony)

Takes care of the awkward timing of when enemies are Broken and gives you a reason to build Break Effect. With Trailblazer (Harmony), Sushang can run either a full CRIT build or a hybrid build.

Silver Wolf
Silver Wolf

Makes sure Sushang always has Physical-weak enemies to hit, so there is always a way to get enemies into the Broken state.

Bronya
Bronya

Gives Sushang an extra turn and boosts her DMG.

Welt
Welt

Slows enemies so Sushang can land more hits. His Skill can Break several enemies, which helps trigger Sword Stance.

Pela
Pela

Lowers enemy DEF and strips their buffs, which raises the DMG Sushang deals.

Asta
Asta

Her Ultimate raises the SPD of the whole team, so everyone gets more attacks in before the enemy's turn.

Serval
Serval

The secondary damage dealer in the budget team, covering the AoE damage Sushang does not have.

Luocha
Luocha

Heals the whole team without you having to use his Skill, which saves a lot of Skill Points for Sushang.

How to Play Sushang

Sword Stance Is Her Main Damage

Sword Stance is an extra hit of Additional Physical DMG. The final hit of her Skill has a 33% chance to trigger Sword Stance, and it is guaranteed if the target is Weakness Broken. After she uses her Ultimate, her Skill gets 2 extra chances to trigger Sword Stance for 2 turns, each dealing 50% of the original DMG. Her Riposte Trace also makes Sword Stance stronger each time it triggers.

More Breaks Make Sushang Faster

Every time an enemy has its Weakness Broken, her Talent Dancing Blade raises Sushang's SPD for 2 turns, even when a teammate is the one who Breaks it. On top of that, her Vanquisher Trace Advances her action Forward by 15% after a Basic ATK or Skill if any enemy on the field is Broken. On the other hand, while enemies are not Broken, Sushang slows down a lot and her damage comes down to luck, so your team needs someone who helps break Toughness.

Time Your Ultimate

Her Ultimate deals big damage to one target and Advances Sushang's action Forward by 100% so she acts again right away, along with an ATK boost. It works best when an enemy's turn is about to come before Sushang's, so you can follow up right away with her Skill and get the extra Sword Stance hits.

Quick Tips

  • Sushang only hits one target, so against big waves bring someone else who deals AoE damage.
  • Her Talent gives extra SPD, so you can wear ATK% Boots and still reach the SPD needed for your ornament set.
  • If you cannot put together a good 4-piece set yet, mix 2-piece bonuses from Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations, Musketeer of Wild Wheat, Prisoner in Deep Confinement or The Wind-Soaring Valorous.
  • Paired with a fast Sparkle or Bronya who keeps pulling her turns forward, Sushang can stay at her base SPD.
  • Swordplay loses power when you keep switching targets, so in fights with lots of target swapping consider another Light Cone.

Sushang FAQ

Is Sushang worth building?
She falls behind in today's harder content. But Sushang is a 4-star who is easy to get, so if you need someone for Physical-weak enemies and do not have Argenti, Clara, Yunli or Luka, she is still worth building.
What is the best Light Cone for Sushang?
In the Night is her best. Swordplay and Cruising in the Stellar Sea are the next picks, and Only Silence Remains is also fine in fights with only a few enemies.
Should Sushang go all in on Break Effect?
No. Sushang has nothing in her kit that turns Break Effect into extra DMG, and she only hits one target, so CRIT stats and ATK still come first. Building some Break Effect only really makes sense when you play her with Trailblazer (Harmony).
Which Eidolons should I aim for?
E1 and E6 are the two best: E1 gives back a Skill Point when she hits a Broken enemy with her Skill, and E6 lets Sushang take more turns. E4 is also a nice pickup, while E2 is only situational.
Can Sushang handle groups of enemies?
Not very well, since she only hits one target. Against big waves she needs strong support from her team, or a second damage dealer with AoE attacks.
