Should You Pull for Fugue?

Support

Fugue is a Fire Nihility support built specifically for Break teams. Just by being on the field, she lets the whole team deal Super Break DMG to Weakness Broken enemies, and she adds a Cloudflame Luster bar so enemies can be Broken a second time. If you play Break teams with Firefly, Boothill or Rappa, Fugue is well worth pulling.

A great fit if you love Break teams, or if you want to move your Trailblazer to another Path and still have someone providing Super Break DMG. If you plan to keep Trailblazer (Harmony) forever, you can skip Fugue.

Memory of Chaos Outstanding Cloudflame Luster lets enemies get Weakness Broken and delayed a second time, which Break teams get a huge amount out of.
Pure Fiction Outstanding Big waves mean plenty of targets to Break twice, and Lingsha can even work as an AoE DPS in Fugue's team here.
Apocalyptic Shadow Very strong The ally with Foxian Prayer can reduce the boss's Toughness even without the matching Weakness, and Cloudflame Luster lets the boss be Broken one more time.

Best Fugue Build Guide

Best Fugue Build (Break Support)

Fugue's build comes down to three things: 220% Break Effect in combat, 67% Effect Hit Rate, and SPD. Once you hit the first two targets, put everything else into SPD.

Best Light Cones

  • 1 Long Road Leads Home Long Road Leads Home Best
Fugue's signature Light Cone. It gives a lot of Break Effect, so reaching 220% gets much easier. Every time an enemy is Weakness Broken, they take 18% more Break DMG, stacking up to 2 times. Since Cloudflame Luster lets enemies be Broken twice, getting both stacks is very easy.
  • 2 Never Forget Her Flame Never Forget Her Flame Great
Raises Fugue's Break Effect and increases the Break DMG dealt by her and one other ally.
  • 3 Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat Great
The best 4-star option. It lets Fugue reduce enemy DEF, and stacked with the DEF reduction from her Skill, that makes Super Break DMG hit harder. Her Enhanced Basic ATK is a Blast attack, so she can apply it to several targets. The downside is that it has no Break Effect, so reaching 220% is a bit harder.
  • 4 Before the Tutorial Mission Starts Before the Tutorial Mission Starts Good
An easy-to-get 4-star that gives Effect Hit Rate and restores Energy when Fugue attacks an enemy with reduced DEF. She applies DEF reduction regularly, so it triggers easily. A good pick if you want more Ultimates from her.
  • 5 Solitary Healing Solitary Healing Good
Mostly here for the Break Effect, so it helps if you're still short of 220%. Its passive is inconsistent because Fugue can only apply DoT through Weakness Break. It's most useful in Pure Fiction, where it can sometimes give her some extra Energy.

Best Relics

1
This set needs 250% Break Effect to fully activate, while Fugue only needs 220%, and her own Break DMG isn't a big part of the team's total damage. Still, once every other stat is in place, the extra Break DMG is a nice bonus.
2
An easy way to reach 220%, since both 2-piece bonuses give Break Effect. In fact, any 2-piece set that gives Break Effect works here.
3
Cloudflame Luster counts as an extra Break for the 4-piece bonus, so Fugue restores more Energy. Only use it once she already has enough Break Effect, and it becomes more worthwhile at E2.

Best Planar Ornaments

1
The top choice when enemies are weak to Fire, for example alongside Firefly, who can implant Fire Weakness. It gives SPD plus 40% Break Effect in combat.
2
Doesn't depend on Fire Weakness, so it works in most teams, especially when enemies aren't weak to Fire and nobody on the team implants it. With this set, aim for 145 SPD.
3
A specialist pick. Fugue already has action advance in her kit, so most of the time she doesn't need it. Only use it if you want the Energy Regeneration Rate or need to hit a very exact SPD breakpoint.

Main Stats

  • BodyEffect Hit Rate
  • FeetSPD
  • Planar SphereHP% or DEF%
  • Link RopeBreak Effect or Energy Regeneration Rate

Substats

  • 1Effect Hit Rate (up to 67%)
  • 2Break Effect (up to 220%)
  • 3SPD

Effect Hit Rate on the body makes her DEF reduction land reliably. HP% or DEF% on the sphere are both fine. Go Break Effect on the rope first, since reaching 220% without it is very hard, and her Ultimate doesn't matter much before E2. Only switch to an Energy Regeneration Rate rope if she's E2, if you need frequent AoE Toughness damage, or if you can still reach 220% to 250% Break Effect with it.

Get Effect Hit Rate and Break Effect to their targets first, then stack as much SPD as you can. HP% and DEF% substats help her survive longer, and Effect RES is also usable.

Stat Targets

  • Break Effect220% or more in combat (about 190% on the stat screen)
  • Effect Hit Rate67%
  • SPD145 or more with Talia, with a higher breakpoint at 160
  • HP3000 to 4000 or more
  • DEF900 to 1400 or more

Skill Priority

Talent = Skill > Ultimate > Basic ATK

Level her Talent and Skill first. The Talent raises the Super Break DMG multiplier for the whole team, and the Skill raises the Break Effect buff for her ally and the DEF reduction. Leave Ultimate and Basic ATK for later, since leveling Basic ATK doesn't increase her Break DMG.

Trace Priority

Sylvan Enigma > Phecda Primordia > Verdantia Renaissance

All three Traces matter a lot, so unlock them early. Sylvan Enigma gives 30% Break Effect and refunds 1 Skill Point after her first Skill. Phecda Primordia raises teammates' Break Effect whenever an enemy is Weakness Broken: 6% per stack, or 18% if Fugue has 220% Break Effect or more, lasting 2 turns and stacking up to 2 times. Verdantia Renaissance delays the enemy's action by an extra 15% on each Break, giving your team more time to deal Super Break DMG.

Eidolon Priority

E2 is the best stopping point

E1 gives the ally with Foxian Prayer 50% Weakness Break Efficiency, so they break Toughness much faster. E2 makes Fugue regenerate 3 Energy whenever an enemy is Weakness Broken, and her Ultimate advances the whole team's action by 24%. This is the most sensible place for spenders to stop. E4 gives the ally with Foxian Prayer 20% more Break DMG. E6 raises Fugue's own Weakness Break Efficiency by 50%, and while she is in the Torrid Scorch state, Foxian Prayer takes effect on all allies.

Best Fugue Teams

Best Team

Replace Firefly with: Boothill, Rappa, Himeko Replace Lingsha with: Gallagher, Huohuo

Fugue is the Super Break enabler here, and you can put her Skill on the DPS for extra Break Effect. Boothill is the stronger pick against Elite enemies, Rappa is better when there are more than three enemies, and the extra Cloudflame Luster bar counts toward Himeko's Charges. Gallagher's healing scales with Break Effect, while Huohuo gives AoE healing and restores Energy for the whole team.

Ruan Mei Team (No Healer)

This team drops the healer for Ruan Mei, a Break support who delays Weakness Break recovery. Her Trace also adds 20% Break Effect in combat, which makes Fugue's 220% target easier to reach. The trade-off is that nobody on the team is a dedicated healer.

Budget Team (All 4-Stars)

Replace Xueyi with: March 7th (The Hunt) Replace Asta with: Pela

Fugue handles DEF reduction and gives the team Super Break. Xueyi benefits the most, because her Follow-up ATKs need enemies to have their Toughness reduced and her kit scales with Break Effect. If you use March 7th (The Hunt), put March's Skill on Gallagher so her Enhanced Basic ATK deals more Toughness damage. Pela can replace Asta, since her Ultimate reduces the DEF of all enemies.

Lingsha DPS Team for Pure Fiction

Replace Trailblazer (Harmony) with: Ruan Mei

Take Firefly out of the best team and add Trailblazer (Harmony), and Lingsha becomes an AoE DPS in Pure Fiction. The Trailblazer adds more instances of Super Break DMG. Give Foxian Prayer to Lingsha so she can reduce Toughness regardless of Weakness.

Best Teammates for Fugue

Firefly
Firefly

One of the top Break DPS, and a great match for Fugue's Super Break, Cloudflame Luster, buffs and debuffs. That said, Firefly doesn't gain a dramatic boost from Breaking enemies twice the way Boothill, Rappa or Himeko do.

Boothill
Boothill

With Fugue, he can get all 3 Pocket Trickshot stacks in a single attack: 1 from the first Break, 1 from breaking Cloudflame Luster and 1 from the kill. His Weakness Break DMG also doubles, since each target gets Broken twice.

Rappa
Rappa

Breaking enemies twice means Rappa gets twice the Charges and twice the Energy from her Talent. She is especially good when there are more than three enemies.

Himeko
Himeko

Cloudflame Luster makes Himeko gain Charges so fast that it gets hard to use them all. Fugue also gives her Super Break DMG and lets her reduce the Toughness of enemies that aren't weak to Fire, though only at 50% effectiveness.

Lingsha
Lingsha

With Foxian Prayer, she breaks Toughness regardless of Weakness while spreading DEF reduction for the whole team. In Pure Fiction, Lingsha can even work as an AoE DPS alongside Fugue.

Xueyi
Xueyi

A 4-star DPS who scales with Break Effect, and whose Follow-up ATKs need enemies to have their Toughness reduced. Cloudflame Luster makes her noticeably stronger.

Gallagher
Gallagher

His healing scales with Break Effect, and his Ultimate makes enemies take more Break DMG. Give him Foxian Prayer and he can reduce Toughness regardless of Weakness.

Ruan Mei
Ruan Mei

A Break support who delays Weakness Break recovery, and her Trace adds 20% Break Effect in combat.

March 7th (The Hunt)
March 7th (The Hunt)

An easy-to-get 4-star DPS. Put March's Skill on Gallagher or Lingsha so her Enhanced Basic ATK deals more Toughness damage.

Aventurine
Aventurine

A good target for Foxian Prayer. It lets him break Toughness regardless of Weakness while the team still benefits from the DEF reduction.

How to Play Fugue

Cloudflame Luster and Super Break

Fugue's Talent works as long as she is on the field. Every enemy gets an extra Cloudflame Luster bar equal to 40% of their Max Toughness. Once the original Toughness hits 0, your attacks keep chipping away at Cloudflame Luster, and when that reaches 0, the enemy takes Weakness Break DMG again. This also means any effect that triggers on Weakness Break can trigger twice.

On top of that, your team's attacks on Weakness Broken enemies convert their Toughness reduction into Super Break DMG, with no buff to keep up. With Verdantia Renaissance, each Break delays the enemy by an extra 15%, for 30% in total if you Break them both times.

Her Skill Gives Foxian Prayer to One Ally

Her Skill gives Foxian Prayer to one ally, and it only takes effect on the most recent target of her Skill. That ally gains Break Effect and can reduce Toughness even against enemies without the matching Weakness, at 50% of the original value. This doesn't stack with other effects that ignore Weakness Type. Every time that ally attacks, the enemy they hit can have their DEF reduced for 2 turns, so you want 67% Effect Hit Rate to make it reliable.

At the same time, Fugue enters the Torrid Scorch state for 3 turns, and her Basic ATK becomes a Blast attack. Many Break DPS can already implant Weakness or ignore it, so you can either give the buff to your DPS for the Break Effect, or to someone like Gallagher, Lingsha or Aventurine so they can also break Toughness regardless of Weakness.

Her Ultimate Is a Bonus at E0

Her Ultimate costs 130 Energy, deals Fire DMG to all enemies, and ignores Weakness Type to reduce their Toughness. Breaking an enemy with it triggers the Fire Weakness Break effect. Her Enhanced Basic ATK doesn't restore extra Energy, so her Ultimate comes around fairly slowly. Treat it as a side tool to finish off Toughness, or to bring enemies close to breaking for your main DPS.

Use Her Technique Before Battle

Her Technique inflicts Daze on enemies in an area for 10 seconds, and Dazed enemies won't actively attack you. If you enter battle by attacking a Dazed enemy, Fugue's action is advanced by 40%, and she has a 100% base chance to give every enemy the same DEF reduction her Skill applies, lasting 2 turns.

Playstyle overview

Fugue is a support character who lets one ally ignore enemy Toughness reduction rules for elemental types. On top of that, Fugue lets the whole team trigger Weakness Break and Super Break DMG far more often.

Fugue FAQ

Is Fugue worth pulling?
Yes, if you play Break teams or want to move your Trailblazer to another Path while keeping Super Break DMG in the team. If you plan to keep Trailblazer (Harmony) forever, you can skip Fugue.
How is Fugue different from Trailblazer (Harmony)?
Fugue's Super Break DMG is lower, but she doesn't need to keep any buff up; she just has to be on the field. She also adds Cloudflame Luster so enemies can be Broken twice, reduces DEF, and lets one ally break Toughness regardless of Weakness. With Fugue on the team, your Trailblazer is free to use another Path.
How much Break Effect does Fugue need?
220% or more in combat to get the full Phecda Primordia bonus, which is about 190% on the stat screen. Add 67% Effect Hit Rate so her DEF reduction lands reliably, then put the rest into SPD.
What Light Cone should Fugue use without her signature?
Never Forget Her Flame is a very good choice. Among 4-stars, Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat is the strongest, Before the Tutorial Mission Starts suits you if you want more frequent Ultimates, and Solitary Healing helps make up missing Break Effect.
Which Eidolon should I stop at?
E2 is the best stopping point: Fugue regenerates Energy whenever an enemy is Weakness Broken, and her Ultimate advances the whole team's action. E1 is also very strong, since the ally with Foxian Prayer breaks Toughness much faster.
