Should You Pull for Trailblazer (Elation)?

Support

Trailblazer (Elation) is a support made for Elation teams. The Ultimate raises one ally's CRIT DMG and lets that ally use their Elation Skill right away, and every attack the Trailblazer makes adds more Punchline. Every player gets this character for free, so if you run an Elation team, go ahead and build the Trailblazer without spending a single pull.

Best for you if you already own, or plan to pull, an Elation damage dealer like Silver Wolf LV.999, Sparxie or Evanescia. If Trailblazer (Remembrance) is already in one of your main teams, think it over first, because the Trailblazer can only join one team in endgame content.

Memory of Chaos Very strong The Ultimate gives your Elation damage dealer an extra Elation Skill plus a CRIT DMG buff, so the team attacks more often.
Pure Fiction Strong Both the Skill and the Elation Skill hit every enemy, so the Trailblazer chips in solid damage against big waves.
Apocalyptic Shadow Outstanding The single-target buff all goes into your damage dealer, and every attack also adds Punchline for the team.

Best Trailblazer (Elation) Build Guide

Trailblazer (Elation) Support Build

Get SPD first so the Trailblazer acts as often as possible, then ATK, because ATK above the threshold turns into Elation. CRIT stats are nice for the Trailblazer's own damage, but they come after SPD.

Best Light Cones

  • 1 Elation Brimming With Blessings Elation Brimming With Blessings Best
One of the two best Light Cones, and since it comes from the shop you can run it at S5. The ally who receives the Ultimate gets extra Elation, and the Trailblazer gets ATK, which in turn converts into more Elation.
  • 2 When She Decided to See When She Decided to See Best
Yao Guang's signature Light Cone and also a top pick. The Trailblazer gets SPD and Energy Regeneration Rate, allies get CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, and it gives extra Energy at the start of each wave. Use it if you already have it, but don't pull an extra copy just for the Trailblazer.
  • 3 Mushy Shroomy's Adventures Mushy Shroomy's Adventures Good
A 4-star Light Cone from the shop, so you can run it at S5. It makes all enemies take more Elation DMG and raises the Trailblazer's own Elation. Several copies on the same team stack.
  • 4 Today's Good Luck Today's Good Luck Good
A 4-star Light Cone that raises the Trailblazer's CRIT Rate and Elation.
  • 5 Tomorrow, Together Tomorrow, Together Easy to get
An event Light Cone that raises the Trailblazer's own CRIT DMG and the whole team's Elation. The team buff only lasts 1 turn though, so it falls behind the options above.

Best Relics

1
A strong set that is well worth farming. It raises Elation for the whole team, and the 2-piece bonus adds SPD, which is exactly what the Trailblazer wants.
2
Every Ultimate advances the Trailblazer's action by 25%, so you get more turns. It shines most when you keep the Ultimate cycling.
3
The ally who receives the Ultimate gets 16% extra Elation for 3 turns, and the whole team gets 12% extra CRIT DMG. Pick it when you want the Trailblazer's buffs to hit harder.

Best Planar Ornaments

1
Gives Energy Regeneration Rate and Action Advance, so the Trailblazer gets more turns to build Energy.
2
Gives Energy Regeneration Rate and adds ATK to the first character in the lineup. It works best when that ATK lands on someone who uses it, like Sparxie, or the Trailblazer, who turns it into Elation. Most other Elation damage dealers don't get much out of ATK.
3
Raises allies' CRIT DMG by 12% when there is a target to defeat. Works in most fights, except some Apocalyptic Shadow stages.

Main Stats

  • BodyCRIT Rate
  • FeetSPD
  • Planar SphereATK% or HP%
  • Link RopeEnergy Regeneration Rate

Substats

  • 1SPD
  • 2CRIT Rate
  • 3CRIT DMG

SPD boots are a must, since the Trailblazer needs as many turns as possible. An Energy Regeneration Rate Link Rope fills the 160 Energy for the Ultimate faster. Go CRIT Rate on the body. On the Planar Sphere, ATK% or HP% both work, and ATK% gives more ATK to convert into Elation.

SPD always comes first, even ahead of offensive stats. CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG come after that. ATK% substats help too, since ATK above 1000 converts into Elation.

Stat Targets

  • SPD160+
  • ATK2000+, 2200 is ideal
  • CRIT Rate80% to 100% (including in-combat buffs)
  • CRIT DMG100%

Skill Priority

Ultimate > Elation Skill = Talent > Skill = Basic ATK

The Ultimate is the best upgrade, because its buff for your ally gets stronger with each level. Leveling the Elation Skill makes the Trailblazer's Elation hits stronger, and the Talent sets how much extra Elation DMG the Skill deals. The Skill and Basic ATK can wait.

Trace Priority

Unlock all three: Screw It, We Ball / On Cloud Nine / Aha, Sic 'Em!

Screw It, We Ball adds 15% CRIT Rate and recovers 1 Skill Point for the team after each Ultimate. On Cloud Nine turns extra ATK into Elation: 10% for every 200 ATK above 1000, up to 60%. Aha, Sic 'Em! gives 2 extra points of Certified Banger the next time the Trailblazer uses the Skill after an ally uses an Elation Skill. All three are worth unlocking early.

Eidolon Priority

E2 is the most valuable

E1: after each Skill, the next Ultimate gives allies 2 extra points of Certified Banger, stacking up to 3 times. E2: the Ultimate also raises the chosen ally's Elation by 12% for 2 turns, a direct boost to your damage dealer. E4: every time the Trailblazer uses the Elation Skill, enemies take 10% more DMG for 2 turns. E6: every time the Trailblazer uses the Elation Skill, the Trailblazer gains 100% CRIT DMG for 3 turns, so you can shift your substats toward CRIT Rate.

Best Trailblazer (Elation) Teams

Elation Team with Silver Wolf LV.999

Replace Silver Wolf LV.999 with: Evanescia, Aventurine • Waveflair Replace Yao Guang with: Tribbie Replace Huohuo with: Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae

Give the Ultimate to Silver Wolf LV.999: she gets a CRIT DMG buff, extra Certified Banger and an instant Elation Skill. Handing her Certified Banger directly also keeps her from running out before her Enhanced Basic ATKs, and helps her reach her Ultimate sooner. Yao Guang is the second Elation support, bringing RES PEN, more Elation DMG and extra Punchline. Huohuo boosts ATK and restores Energy for the team.

Elation Team with Sparxie

Replace Yao Guang with: Sparkle, Tribbie, Cipher, Hanya Replace Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae with: Huohuo, Gallagher

Sparxie is the damage dealer. The Trailblazer's Ultimate buffs her and lets her use her Elation Skill right away, which hits with very high multipliers. Yao Guang handles RES PEN, more Elation DMG and extra Punchline. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae shields the team, gives Sparxie a summon and boosts her ATK.

Stopgap Team Without an Elation Damage Dealer

Herta has no Elation Skill, so the Trailblazer's Ultimate advances her action by 50% along with the CRIT DMG buff. Asta adds SPD and ATK buffs. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae shields the team and gives the Trailblazer even more ATK. This is only a stand-in team. Trailblazer (Elation) is strongest next to other Elation characters.

How to Play Trailblazer (Elation)

The Ultimate Buffs One Ally and Gives Them an Extra Elation Skill

The Ultimate costs 160 Energy. When it is used, the Trailblazer gains 5 Punchline, raises one ally's CRIT DMG for 3 turns and dispels Crowd Control debuffs from that ally. If the ally has an Elation Skill, they gain 10 points of Certified Banger and immediately use their Elation Skill once, counting a fixed 20 Punchline. An ally without an Elation Skill only gets a 50% Action Advance. The Ultimate can only target one ally, so think about who gets it and when.

The Skill Makes Its Own Certified Banger

The Skill hits all enemies and gives the Trailblazer 20 points of Certified Banger right away, with no need to use an Elation Skill first. While the Trailblazer holds Certified Banger, the Talent makes the Skill deal extra Lightning Elation DMG to all enemies, based on the highest Certified Banger value on the team. In other words, whichever ally has built up the most, the Trailblazer gets to use that number. The Skill does cost Skill Points though, so it is easier to spam in a team with Silver Wolf LV.999 or Sparkle.

Why SPD Matters Most

After each attack, the Talent restores a fixed 10 Energy (this counts the Trailblazer's own Elation Skill too) and adds 3 Punchline. The more turns the Trailblazer takes, the faster the 160 Energy Ultimate comes back and the more Punchline the team gets. The Trailblazer already has 106 base SPD, so aim for 160 or more.

Extra ATK Turns Into Elation

The On Cloud Nine trace gives 10% Elation for every 200 ATK above 1000, up to 60%. That means 2200 ATK reaches the full 60%, which is why ATK comes right after SPD in the build.

Quick Tips

  • Use the Technique before a fight: the whole team gets 20% Elation (sometimes 30% if you are lucky) for the first 3 turns.
  • In an Elation team, always give the Ultimate to someone with an Elation Skill so they get the extra attack, since anyone else only gets a 50% Action Advance.
  • If an ally is hit by Crowd Control, the Trailblazer's Ultimate dispels it from them.
  • Screw It, We Ball recovers 1 Skill Point after each Ultimate, which makes it easier to keep using the Skill.
  • City of Converging Stars does not work in some Apocalyptic Shadow stages, so check before you bring it.

Trailblazer (Elation) FAQ

Should I build Trailblazer (Elation)?
Yes, if you already run or plan to run an Elation team. Every player has the Trailblazer, the buffs for an Elation damage dealer are good, and the Trailblazer generates Punchline steadily. Outside Elation teams, the Trailblazer doesn't do much.
Should I use the Elation or the Remembrance Trailblazer?
Trailblazer (Remembrance) is much stronger and is wanted by many teams. The Trailblazer can only join one team in endgame content, so you have to choose. If you are focusing on an Elation team, the Elation form is well worth using. If you already have enough other strong teams, keeping the Remembrance form may pay off more.
What is the best Light Cone for Trailblazer (Elation)?
Elation Brimming With Blessings and When She Decided to See are the two top picks. Elation Brimming With Blessings is easier to get since it comes from the shop. Without either of them, use Mushy Shroomy's Adventures.
How much SPD does Trailblazer (Elation) need?
160 or more. SPD comes before offensive stats, because every turn means more Energy and more Punchline.
Which Eidolon is the most valuable?
E2: the Ultimate gives the chosen ally 12% extra Elation for 2 turns. E1, E4 and E6 are all good too.
