Playstyle overview

Ashveil is a damage dealer who can mark one enemy as “Prime Prey” and land follow-up attacks at a high rate. If the current “Prime Prey” is defeated by an Enhanced follow-up attack, Ashveil seeks out new “Prime Prey” and keeps her follow-up attacks going. Ashveil can also raise her team’s CRIT DMG and lower the DEF of all enemies.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Excellent single-target damage output
  • A very high attack and follow-up attack frequency
  • Extremely strong team-wide buffs while also buffing her own damage
  • Saves Skill Points while putting out damage
  • Extremely versatile and flexible as both a DPS and a support, so she stays relevant in the meta
  • Good Energy management with little waste on overkill

Cons

  • An extremely fragile character
  • Nothing groundbreaking compared with the classic follow-up attack playstyle
  • Really wants to be paired with characters who attack often, to maximize the Energy she receives

Best Ashveil Build Guide

Ashveil DPS Build

Best Light Cones

  • 1 The Finale of a Lie s1 The Finale of a Lie

Ashveil’s signature adds another debuff in the form of 20% DMG Vulnerability on all enemies. It has very high base ATK and also raises his own CRIT Rate and ATK%. That said, if you already own other high end options you can skip it.

  • 2 Baptism of Pure Thought s1 Baptism of Pure Thought

Dr. Ratio’s follow-up oriented signature increases CRIT DMG based on the number of debuffs on the target. He can apply some of them himself, but he usually needs extra teammates to reach full value.

The DMG increase and DEF ignore work extremely well with Ashveil when he launches his enhanced follow-up ATK after using his Ultimate, while charging up his own Traces. Because of that, his attacks make full use of this buff easily, and the DEF ignore also stacks very well with the 40% DEF reduction from his Skill.

  • 3 Worrisome, Blissful s1 Worrisome, Blissful

Topaz’s signature is a support oriented option, but it is still stronger than most free 4★ or 5★ alternatives thanks to proper 5★ stats with CRIT Rate and follow-up ATK DMG.

In particular, with Ashveil played as a Sub-DPS, it can increase the CRIT DMG the target takes.

  • 4 Cruising in the Stellar Sea s5 Cruising in the Stellar Sea

The best F2P option is the Light Cone from the Herta shop, which has conditional CRIT Rate while the enemy is below 50% HP, so it can be slightly awkward to optimize when building.

Its ATK% buff requires Ashveil to finish off a target regularly every 2 turns, which you can work toward thanks to his enhanced follow-up ATKs.

  • 5 See You at the End s5 See You at the End

This Light Cone is an alternative with no trigger condition, so it is more consistent in actual play. It can be stronger than the Herta shop Light Cone if you cannot keep the buff up reliably, or if you would rather not build around trigger conditions.

  • 6 The Hell Where Ideals Burn s1 The Hell Where Ideals Burn

Only works alongside Sparkle (or a teammate who can raise the Skill Point cap).

Archer’s signature has a very large ATK increase once it has stacked for 4 turns, which makes it a competitive damage option.

Best Relics

1

Skill Priority

Skill >= Talent = Ultimate > Basic ATK

Trace Priority

A2 > A6 > A4

Eidolon Priority

Eidolon 1: Applies an extra debuff that raises the DMG the enemy takes by 24%, going up to 36% when the target is below 50% HP. This is a very strong support upgrade and it also works well for Ashveil as a main DPS. Its value drops, however, if the team already runs several other sources of increased DMG taken (such as his own S1, Sparkle, Tribbie or Cipher).

Eidolon 2: A DPS oriented Eidolon that raises the Gluttony stack cap and refunds 35% of the stacks, which increases the DMG% from his Traces and lets him land more instances of Additional DMG during his Ultimate.

Eidolon 4: Permanently increases ATK by 40%. Only a small damage upgrade, mostly a stepping stone toward the final Eidolon.

Eidolon 6: A very large overall damage upgrade for the whole team, but it does not change how he plays. It reduces enemy All-Type RES by 20% and raises the DMG he deals by up to 120% (the real value ends up diluted because he already has many sources of DMG% from his Traces and from teammates).

Stat Targets

  • ATK 3000+
  • CRIT Rate 100%
  • CRIT DMG 100-150%+
  • SPD Base or 135 (You can use SPD Boots for Ashveil as a Sub-DPS, or in an Ashveil main DPS team alongside Sunday / Bronya)
  • Energy Regen Rate Base (The Energy Regeneration Rate Link Rope can be stronger than an ATK% rope in some niche cases, even though it does not multiply the fixed 8 Energy from the effect that triggers when an enemy is attacked.)

Ashveil Skills

Basic ATK

Talons: Inculcate Decorum

[Single Target]
Energy Generated20
Toughness Break Single Target: 10

Deals Lightning DMG equal to 140% of Ashveil’s ATK to one designated enemy.

Flog: Smite Evil

[Single Target]
Energy Generated30
Toughness Break Single Target: 20

Makes one designated enemy become the “Bait,” dealing it Lightning DMG equal to 250% of Ashveil’s ATK. If the target is already the “Bait,” additionally deals it Lightning DMG equal to 125% of Ashveil’s ATK, and recovers 1 Skill Point(s). When the “Bait” exists on the field, all enemies’ DEF gets reduced by 50%.
When there is no “Bait” on the field, Ashveil immediately makes the enemy target with the lowest HP on the field become the “Bait.” The “Bait” state only takes effect on the most recently applied target.

Lv. 1 to Lv. 15

Banquet: Insatiable Appetite

[Single Target]
Energy Generated5
Toughness Break Single Target: 30

Makes one designated enemy become the “Bait,” dealing it Lightning DMG equal to 500% of Ashveil’s ATK. Then, immediately launches 1 instance of enhanced Talent’s Follow-Up ATK against the “Bait.” And Ashveil gains 3 Charge.
This enhanced Talent’s Follow-Up ATK does not consume Charge. Whenever “Gluttony” reaches 4 stack(s) or more, consumes 4 stack(s) of “Gluttony” to additionally deal 1 instance of Lightning DMG equal to 250% of Ashveil’s ATK. And when this instance of Follow-Up ATK deals a killing blow to the target, it will continue to deal DMG to a new “Bait.” This triggers until “Gluttony” becomes lower than 4 stack(s). If all enemy targets currently on the field have been dealt killing blows, the enhanced Talent’s Follow-Up ATK will immediately end.

Lv. 15

Upgrade Materials

Lv. 1 to Lv. 15

Ashveil has an initial Charge of 2 and can hold up to a max of 3. After the “Bait” gets attacked by other ally targets, Ashveil regenerates a fixed amount of 8 Energy, then consumes 1 Charge to launch Follow-Up ATK against the “Bait,” dealing Lightning DMG equal to 250% of Ashveil’s ATK. Afterwards, gains 2 stack(s) of “Gluttony,” which can stack up to 12.
