Most members of the Genius Society are eccentrics, and it is an acknowledged fact that eccentrics rarely communicate with one another.

For the geniuses of every world, communication is a needless burden. And is it not the same for ordinary people?

But member #56, Elias Salas, the society's second term president, once tried to solve this problem. He eagerly prepared communication glasses with remote sensing functions for the members of that time. Unfortunately, even with a bridge between planets already built, hardly anyone wanted to step onto that bridge… Since the birth of the finest communication device in the history of the galaxy, there has to this day never been a single truly effective conversation.

“-The number you have dialed cannot be reached at this time, please call back later… Good grief, if you are going to pretend to be an artificial intelligence just to turn me down, at least make it convincing…”

Elias Salas sighed, knowing this really was difficult, but he still had to try it. In any case, this technology is certain to be useful.

“The investors who talk about the Metafield space all day long have all gone mad. This industry has been empowered countless times, but the Metafield itself has vanished.”

People never stop guessing once they have lost something: the Metafield was in truth a vessel for nurturing souls, and it invited all sorts of beings inside only in order to obtain soul samples for free.

Society member #64, the notorious “Dr. Primitive”, has spent his entire life evading interstellar manhunts for the crimes he has committed.

Dr. Primitive seems to enjoy it, deliberately controlling the distance between himself and the Galaxy Rangers, never quite close enough to be caught, but never far enough to disappear.

He applied some sort of gravity capture technology to his escapes, so that he can walk freely through space by harnessing gravity. The astrophysicists of the Intelligentsia Guild still have not grasped its principle, and can only assume that the difference in gravity between planets plays the main role. The gravity generation vehicles driven by his pursuers have no choice but to follow close behind, determined to bring the guilty man to justice.

“Walking through space is a romantic thing,” said the Galaxy Rangers officer, “but unfortunately that man is Dr. Primitive.”

Even after Dr. Primitive vanished completely, the Galaxy Rangers never believed that he was “presumed dead”, and never stopped the pursuit.
